Real Life, Real Parenting

So, I am sure that you have all seen the ‘perfect’ moms on social media; the ones who have their lives together and who only post pictures of their smiling kids.
Well, I am here to tell you that it is okay if your household is different than that.
I for one, am not one of those perfect moms who acts as if their kids never do anything that drives me insane.
My kids drive me up a wall, often. I have three boys. My youngest is almost a year old, so at the moment he is just a ball of cuteness.
My older boys fight with each other, they yell, they stomp, they do things without asking, I have caught my middle boy trying to do a cartwheel on the couch, and so much more.
There are days where I am so mentally exhausted that I send them to bed early after having top ramen for dinner.
But that is okay.
It is okay to get overwhelmed, it is okay to not have a ‘perfect’ home with ‘perfect’ kids. It is okay to sneak away for a few minutes of peace while hiding in the bathroom, or sneaking a candy bar while they are busy, cause we know that they’d be all over that candy.
I am not going to sit here and lie, I am not going to tell you that my house is immaculate and that my children are tiny little angels who do as they are told and never make a mess.
No. My house is not dirty, but boy does it get messy. Toys and books everywhere. Even shoes. Like why do they feel the need to try on all their shoes so often?
The most important thing is that your children are happy and healthy.
My kids are. They may be little butt heads, but I almost always see a smile on their faces, other than when they are fighting with each other. They are caring, smart, sweet, funny, loveable, and more.
We may not have a ‘picture-perfect’ life, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

I am going to be making more blog posts like this. Sharing my side of things. Showing how my life is and how it differs from the ‘norm’ that the internet pushes on us. Also, I know that there are going to be people who disagree with me and that is just fine! You have your life and everyone is entitled to an opinion.

So, if you are like me and are sick of the ‘perfect’ moms plastered all over the internet, comment and let me know!
